Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera with me this weekend, which always slows the blogging process. I have to wait for other people to post their pictures so I can steal them. So here's my weekend through the eyes of Sara's camera:
Saturday Sara, Rich and I went hiking around the Mesa trail down by Eldorado Canyon.
I like this picture Sara took of the hiking party:
On Sunday, I went around Boulder and Louisville with a real estate agent looking at condos. My lease is up at the end of July, so I have two months to find something! Afterwards, Rich, Lenore, Sara, and I took in some of the Boulder Creek Festival, a three-day event that includes the Bolder Boulder. Here we are after eating dinner next to the creek and under the library.
Monday was cold and rainy, so I didn't go back downtown for the festival. Speaking of cold, my apartment hasn't had hot water since Friday night, so maybe I picked the right time to move out!

Sunday Bike Ride
Today I went on a 33-mile bike ride. I started off by riding up to Louisville to meet Sara and Rich. Here's a picture from the top of the hill looking back at Boulder:
The three of us rode down to Superior to meet Lenore, and then we explored the Coal Creek bike path. Here's a view of the front range from the path:
Here's a picture of Rich taking a picture of Sara:
And a picture of Lenore patiently waiting for Rich and I to finish taking pictures:
We had a nice lunch in downtown Louisville, but afterwards Rich discovered he had a flat tire. I looked at my tires and noticed I had a #$%!@ goathead in my tire. I had no idea what these things were until I moved out West. Luckily it was jammed in there so well that my tire didn't leak until I got home and took it out. Here's a picture of the culprit:
Oh yeah, and one last thing. One might think I'd be rewarded for my troubles this morning riding up that hill to Louisville, right? Well, on my way home, I rode directly into a stiff headwind. I didn't even need to use my brakes going down that hill because my body was like a human parachute slowing my descent!

Saturday at Walker Ranch
Friday Night at Folsom Street Coffee Co.
I rarely play the tuba anymore, but three or four times a year I sit in with Andy Langford, a guitar-playing coworker of mine. Last Friday night was the first time this year for me. I usually play a simple oom-pah bass line on a couple up-beat songs. Thanks to Rich for taking this picture of Andy and I on stage:

Green Mtn. and Bear Peak
On Saturday, a group of NCAR/NOAA friends went on a 8.5 mile hike up Green Mtn. and Bear Peak (Bear Peak's the one I did by myself back on April 30, see first blog entry). We started at Chautauqua Park and finished at Rebecca's and James' place. It took us a little over seven hours (the first half hour of which it snowed a little on us)!
Thanks again to Rich for the pictures with me in them.
Taking a break on the way up Green Mtn. Julie, Rich, Sean, John, and Sara:
James and Rebecca at the same place (her knee is in the first picture):

A nice group photo on Bear Peak. James, me, Rich, Sara, Rebecca, and Sean (note the color coordination!):

Last Day at Loveland
I went skiing May 4th, the last day Loveland was open. No pictures of me in action, but here's one of me, Sara, and Andy in the muddy parking lot; one of me atop the ridge; and one of my helmet hair.
May 6 -- here's one of Rich and me as well. Rich is the one who organized the ski trip and brought his camera that took these pictures.
